You are what you think

So go ahead and be great

No diminishing

Our thoughts are incredibly powerful — at times, more powerful than we give them credit. Much like the phrase, “you are what you eat”, “you are what you think” has the ability to transform our lives. What we feed our mind has either a tremendous benefit on our outcomes or the completely opposite effect. Knowing this, why wouldn’t we satisfy our mental appetite with nothing less than positive affirmations and dreams of greatness?

The way we choose to start our day has an impact on this mental state of mind. There are a number of individuals who write about taking the first 30–60 minutes of our waking hour to gently check in, hydrate and read, journal or meditate — no looking at the phone or computer. Giving ourselves the ability to connect within sets us up for a more modified approach to the day. It should help us be more mindful and grounded, as well as be truly connected with our inner voice. The connection with this voice tends to be more positive and clearer. It has the strength to guide us and lead us to our higher aspirations — even with its whispering sound. Connecting with this part of ourselves in the first hour of waking up builds the bridge to our cognitive self which works to accomplish a desirable output. An output that can be consistently strong, as well as beneficial on any number of fronts.

Let’s work to make this first hour of our day the most sacred, so we can rise up to levels that are inspirational. Let’s make the first addiction of the day a dedication to our soul. For if we do this consistently and with earnest discipline, we will be a greater presence (and present!) for those around us.
