Self -Worth

Define your self-worth

For it is the foundation

On which you must stand

Often times, we allow the views of others to not only define our worth, but also define who we are. Our worth is not a matter of circumstances. Rather, it is a matter of the choices we make every day. Staying connected to what is authentically ours is paramount if we are to grow our value in a marked way over the course of time. It’s been both written and discussed that the moment we own our story is the moment we take responsibility for everything that comes into our life. The essence of “own”ership is a critical aspect of building the foundation on which we stand. At times, we believe the walk we take is a road that is somewhat happenstance or “provided” to us. In actuality, the road is one that rises to meet each and every one of us as a result of our actions, beliefs, thoughts and choices. Knowing that we have the power to manifest the journey is such an exhilarating concept.

Author M. Scott Peck of the classic novel The Road Less Traveled states, “Until you value yourself, you won’t value your time. Until you value your time, you will not do anything with it.” We tend to think that we have all the time in the world. However, when we choose to live in the NOW, we understand that the only moment we have is the one we are immediately experiencing. Having the courage to stand up TO and FOR ourselves in the space of time is what matters most. While this philosophy tests us, like all exercise, it makes us stronger and more resilient. And as such, it makes us worthier of so much more than we can ever see in the tiny microcosm of our existence.
